  • This electrotype copy, made in 19th century, comes in two parts which are negative molds i.e. negative representations of the original medal, meaning the raised and recessed areas are reversed - this is a necessary intermediate process. The final process involves putting metal into the negative mood to build a positive copy of each side of the medal and then putting the halves together.
