Reverse: Laureate, in armour, with lions' heads on shoulders, scarf and lace ruff. FIDEI. DEFENSOR. Defender of the Faith.

Excessively rare, MI states that the original is perhaps unique..

An electrotype commissioned by Britsh Museum and made by R Ready in late 19th century. R stamped n edge.

MI states that the medal was probably made for distribution amongst the favourites of the Court.
